Hi,
Could someone tell me how much throttle stroke is needed on 912 to get max carbs open and a low rpm? I own a Highlander with the throttle control supplied by the factory and I'm not able to reach max carbs open and low rpm. When I adjust to reach max I'm not able to get lower than 2200 rpm idle. When I adjust for a good 1800 rpm idle speed I miss about 1/8'' on the carbs lever. It's like if I'd need 1/4'' to 1/2'' more throttle stroke to have a good idle and max power.
Thanks
Pat

Most all throttles have more than enough cable. Lengthen the cable at the carb throttle arm. Unless someone cut off a bunch of cable off the end this should solve your problem. If someone trimed too much off then you may need to purchase a new cabling system.

    Hi Roger,
Thanks for your answer. The problem is not with the cables length. I have more than enough cable. In fact, it's about my throttle lever stroke. If I adjust the cables to reach full open throttle, I'm not able to get lower than 2200 rpm when I pull out the throttle lever.

Sounds like you need to modify your throttle some to get more travel.

Yes that's right. I can't figure out how to get more travel.

Did it ever work correctly? What has changed?
The cable needs to attach further out on the throttle lever.

If the attachment location is slotted, Slide it out.
A little extra arm goes a long way!
Just 1mm could add up to 3+mm in cable movement.

It is that Pi•R2 formula in action!
