the skyview ems221 configuration file might be the problem. you need to look at the definition of the skyview virtual oil pressure gauge. the dynon website has a copy of a basic 912iS engine instrument panel configuration and sensor definition filesl. try copying and loading that into your skyview and see if the problem disappears.

i note the configuration of can_oil pressure follows the definition of can_map, could be something like a missing bracket {}.

Can someone tell me where in the maintenance manual it shows this spare 1/8” plug for analog gauge? I’ve picked up analog oil pressure indicator 0-100. Will install this week and test against the dynon.

I have the latest dynon skyview engine sensor file. I’m not sure what you mean by the Ems 221 config file can’t find anything on this.

We also don’t understand how altitude is affecting our oil psi, I’m at least glad there is more then one with this same issue which seems to indicate some sort of fault somewhere, maybe bad wiring of the sensor? I’m just guessing this was factory built plane as was the other one. But it is under amateur built category/owner maintenance.

Regarding the EMS config file, I am not using the 912iS so it's possible things might be different, but for non-912iS application here's how it works: For each sensor, the EMS module needs to be "told" which pins it is on. This is called "mapping." Also, the EMS needs to know what the sensor is, and it must be a sensor that the EMS recognizes. This is called "configuring." If the wrong sensor was selected during configuring, it would not perform correctly. The solution would be to reconfigure, selecting the proper sensor. See the Skyview Installation Manual for instructions.

Don't think you are alone in not understanding why the Oil Pressure display is affected by the altitude. No one understands why!

Unused Oil Port, 912is Parts Catalog, Chapter 79-20-00, Page 6. Oil Pump Assembly, Part Numbers 8 and 9. Sealing Ring and Plug Screw. It is an M10x1 thread. A tapered 1/8 pipe thread will likely screw into the hole but it will ruin the threads.

A 1/8 NPT Female to M10x1 Male adapter is recommended.
Your local Auto parts store should be able to get you one quickly for ~$15.
It is even called an Oil Pressure Sender Adapter. Very common.

Appreciate the info! Have ordered all parts. Should be able to test it end of week. Will report back findings, will fly up to high altitude and compare numbers to the dynon.
