I think there are two types of dongle.
Which are you suggesting and where is the best price to purchase please?

You should have a number 2 or 3 dongle. Dongle pricing is fairly equal from service centers.

Yes just sitting in my plane there are no adjustable settings for the oil pressure on the dynon skyview. Can only set limits for how it displays the pressure. Pipistrel does customize the engine to fit the cowling, my first pipistrel had two oil radiators, they found only one was needed so now I only have one. It is possible that if there is too tight a bend in an oil line this could disrupt oil pressure. But I’ve sent pics of the install to rotech in Vernon and they don’t see any issues with the installation. I am only relaying what I have been told, and that is that pipistrel has been trouble shooting this on their end.

Will get the other guy to check his data with the buds.

There is a version of the dongle that rotax will not sell. They will only sell the version that reads the data and it’s about $800 I believe.

A restriction in the Input to the Oil pump would reduce the Oil pressure.
A restriction in the Output would reduce the Oil flow volume but the Pressure regulator would maintain nominal pressure.
If the Regulator failed, the pressure would either go to Zero or so high that the hoses would blow out.

None of these would be affected by the Altitude.

The altitude factor is what makes this fault so interesting.

I’m with Bill here. I don’t see how altitude alone would affect this closed pressurized system. Something else may be affecting this rather than a pump or oil pressure plug. How about the constant speed prop set up?
