I have bought a Cambridge Avionics Status Monitor for my machine (eventually to be built). I am sure it doesn't display every fault permutation but I reckon 53 errors are a pretty good start and I expect it would have identified 'simple' snags like an injector fault.

Have a look at the YouTube video and see what you think:

No, I'm not affiliated with the company. Just a customer and an occasional correspondent with the owner, because he knows his stuff when it comes to electricity (he flies behind a 912iS).

Very interesting. Looks like a real time readout of the some of the dongle download messages real time. Would defiantly be helpful for troubleshooting in flight verses the dongle and computer.

    Another piece to the puzzle.

My educated guess is that Cylinder #3 EGT Sensor is Failing.
It could be the sensor or a connection.
Failed HIGH likely means it showed an Open Circuit condition.
A cracked wire within the sensor that Opens as it cools would be an explanation.

Swap the sensor with another cylinder and see if the problem moves.to the new cylinder.

Bill, Failed High showing an open circuit condition is most helpful. Hopefully it in in the sensor and or sensor wire and not on the other side in the wiring harness. It is probably cheaper to just buy one and install it hoping it is in the sensor or sensor wire rather than try and switch out to trouble shoot.

Thanks again very helpful will provide results.

Before today's flight, I wiggled my cylinder 3 EGT probe and connection. During flight i did my power idle descent, see attachment and took a picture of the EGT readings. Could not get the Lane A blinking. Because of the large variance of the EGT readings, I thought that could have triggered the Lane a Flashing. Appears not. So far Bill Hertzel theory appears to be gaining ground.

    This would make sense.
The EGT Values are only sent to the Panel as an Informational item.
While engine's EGT sensors indicate the exhaust gas temperature; at the present time, they have no impact on the mixture.
As long as the Sensors are producing a Reading, Any Reading other than a Short or an Open, the ECU will just happily pass them along to the Panel.

Apparently, "Jiggling" the wires corrected the intermittent.
Don't be surprised if it eventually reappears. Or Not. ;)

If I am reading your panel correctly, at 36psi, your Fuel Pressure is WAY out of nominal values.

Yes the jiggling of my EGT makes the blinking A Lane a happen a little less often but it is still there.

Yes Bill the fuel pressure reading is with a VDO sensor which I have developed little faith in the reliably and accuracy over the years. With all the sensors the 912iS has now they should at least put a fuel pressure sensor in the fuel rail on the engine. If anyone remembers, of which we still have to deal with, the old VDO oil pressure sensor was always problematic until rotax put the new digital oil pressure which appears to be doing quite well.

We can add that into the "Product improvement" list for the 912iS but a tend not to get to excited with an out of range VDO sensor.
