After my Lane A solid on was resolved with the new spark plug actuator now I have a Lane A flassing onb my last flight.

    Have students booked solid.

will download the dongle and try to get support.

IS THERE ANY ONE ELSE BESIDES LOCKWOOD AND CA POWER WHO ARE QUALIFIED?

My last post did not provide any one else. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHO IS QUALIFIED.

OK the pesky lane A flashing in flight. It has gotten now that I just flip it off and flip it back on and it clears it. However not a good practice to pass on to the students. I finally had the chance to download the event and attached are the results. The grayed out areas are from the previous problem with the Lane A on solid and the problem fixed with the ignition coil (Thanks Bryan Toepher Ca Power). Before I was getting the Blinking Lane A for idle power extended descents 11,000 to 6,000 Feet MSL and the 4 EGTs showed a huge spread so I was avoiding that. This time was only a 7,000 to 6,000 power off descent and the blinking Lane A light on. Finally the smoking gun, since it was on the downwind to landing. Again, a simple Lane A switch off and back on cleared it. So I clearly know the Fault is Cylinder 3 EGT Sensor Fault FC Error Failed High as shown. I suspect the Category Fault means the blinging Lane A (this is my assumption). A guess just a warning does not cause a blinking Lane Light. Now the Blinking Lane light is almost standard procedure in the 912iS with the procedure to turn it off and turn it back on to clear it.

From the 4 EGT faults any idea what the solution/fix might be?

My educated guess is that Cylinder #3 EGT Sensor is Failing.
It could be the sensor or a connection.
Failed HIGH likely means it showed an Open Circuit condition.
A cracked wire within the sensor that Opens as it cools would be an explanation.

Swap the sensor with another cylinder and see if the problem moves.to the new cylinder.

Bill, Failed High showing an open circuit condition is most helpful. Hopefully it in in the sensor and or sensor wire and not on the other side in the wiring harness. It is probably cheaper to just buy one and install it hoping it is in the sensor or sensor wire rather than try and switch out to trouble shoot.

Thanks again very helpful will provide results.

I have bought a Cambridge Avionics Status Monitor for my machine (eventually to be built). I am sure it doesn't display every fault permutation but I reckon 53 errors are a pretty good start and I expect it would have identified 'simple' snags like an injector fault.

Have a look at the YouTube video and see what you think:

No, I'm not affiliated with the company. Just a customer and an occasional correspondent with the owner, because he knows his stuff when it comes to electricity (he flies behind a 912iS).
